About the Author

I have been a photographer since the age of eight when I used to ask my dad to “let me press the button”. I got my first camera at the age of 14 when I talked my mom into buying two cases of paper towels so I could send in package labels for a “free” Kodak Hawkeye R4 Instamatic.

With two jobs and little free time my photography is still in the amateur class even though I am occasionally paid for my work.  I am really drawn to the Daguerreotype however and some time ago decided to devote time to mastering the craft.

As the process has been gradually unfolding, it has become clearer to me that I am on a path to being an artist/maker. I am drawn to making art but I also find great satisfaction in creating the tools that support the process. I don’t know fully yet what artist/maker really means but I am learning.

As long as you don’t mind slow progress, check out this site from time to time to see how I am doing.
